The Mobile Internet, or WAP, works in much the same way as the internet. However, rather than viewing web pages designed for PC's, WAP pages are designed to be viewed on the small screens of a phone, so there generally aren't lots of graphics and colours.

  • The basic operation is very similar to viewing web pages on PC - users view a page with a number of links to other pages and information. Users select the link they want by scrolling to it and clicking 'OK' or the green button on the phone(varying by phone type) just like you would click on a link with a mouse on your PC.
  • Most WAP phones should already be configured and have a  dial up number already stored.
  • Find the WAP menu in the phone - it may be called services, applications, browser or possibly internet. Once there, select home/start browser (or similar), then select a link.
  • When the user has finished, they can end by either pressing the end call button, or by selecting quit browser (or similar) from the phone menu.
