1.What can I do if I can’t send a photo message?

If you have an MMS phone and can't send picture messages, you need to:
  • Make sure you have the right MMS and GPRS settings. Call your network operator for help and they can send the settings to you directly.
  • Make sure you have MMS activated on your account. Call your network operator for help and they can add MMS to your account over the phone.
  • Make sure that you are in coverage of the data network. Most phones have an indicator which shows G or GPRS when using the data network.
2.How do I use online photo albums?

Online photo albums allow you to store your photos online so you can free up space on your phone, and let you share your photos with other people via the web or wap. Some services also allow you to edit pictures and order prints. The services offer a selection of ways to upload your photos to the albums one of which is via MMS. 3. How much does picture messaging cost?

Costs vary depending on Operator and price plan.
  • Receiving a picture message - free of charge
  • Sending a picture message – prices vary between networks, but you can expect to pay between 20p and 60p including VAT per picture message sent.
  • It may be possible to join a tariff which includes special offers for MMS, which can cut the cost of sending a picture message even further – check with your operator for details.
4. Can I use MMS whilst abroad?

You will need to check first with your operator. Costs are as follows:
  • Receiving a picture message - Free on some networks, or GPRS data charge according to the size of the message
  • Sending a picture message - On some networks, this costs the same as in the UK, so cheaper than a postcard! On others, there is a GPRS data charge according to the size of the message, plus the networks’ usual picture messaging cost.
5. Who can I send to?

You can send to:

Other mobiles

You can send pictures to anyone on any UK network.

Mobiles that can't show pictures
They'll get a password and a web address so they can see your picture online.

Email addresses
They'll get an email with your text in it and your picture as an attachment.(If your phone gives you the choice, send via MMS not via email

Check with your Operator about sending picture messages to international mobile numbers.

6. How
do I send a picture message to an e-mail address?

Just compose your message as normal. Then, when you come to send it, your phone should offer the choice to send to a phone number or email address. Simply enter the email address as you would a phone number. You should also be able to store email addresses in your phonebook

7. What size are the pictures I send and can I change the size?

Picture sizes vary with different phones and can be changed using the phone settings. Phones with more powerful cameras will reduce the size of the picture to below 300kb so that it can be sent via MMS. You can transfer the picture in it’s original size (for email or printing) by uploading it to your PC via bluetooth, using a card reader for the phone’s memory card or using a data cable (handset specific)
